PREACHING THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IN AFRICA

THE GREAT COMMISSION

The people in Africa are very open to the gospel and many have never heard the “Good News”. I found that when they hear the gospel they respond in a very positive way and thousands of people have been led in prayer for salvation.

In most places 9 out of 10 people will accept the gospel message and pray to receive Jesus.

The need is for people to go and to teach the nationals how to do what they have been called to do and to set up churches that will train and bring to maturity the new Christians and work together in bringing about the kingdom of God.

HIV/AIDS has affected and infected a large percentage of the population.

Malaria: Thousands die from malaria in Africa especially young children.

Water borne diseases:  Again due to the pollution and inadequate water supplies and contamination, Typhoid, Ameba and many other water borne diseases cause thousands of deaths each year.

Orphans and widows: Africa  has an extremely high number of orphans, widows and aged people who have little means of support; many survive on growing a few vegetables.

Prostitution: There is a high percentage of prostitution because of the poverty situation. Around the lake areas the fishermen earn good money but much of it is spent on prostitutes, drugs and alcohol.  Which of course adds to the problem of sexually transmitted diseases.
